⋆. 𐙚˚࿔ Students are tired. 𝜗𝜚˚⋆
I've been dying to write about this, the subject of school/academies not listening to us and not caring about our mental health makes me sick...all of this is insane to me.
Keep in mind that I'll mainly focus on the French school system since that's the one I know the most about, but I know a lot of things I'll be saying also apply to other school systems in other countries.
I swear they intentionally remove us the things that makes us happy, they either want us to be really sad or just don't care enough about our well being to listen to what we'd like to be done and removed.
In the past, we didn't have limits on how much we could use our phones in the hallways and it was so fun, I made so many memories because of this, and it helped when I was at my lowest with no friends too. Now my problem isn't only the fact that they forbade us to use it, but it's more the reasons they gave. There's so many things to focus on, there's so much people being bullied and dying because of it, last year a girl committed in my school and three years before, same happened to a boy, yet they choose to focus on our phones instead of the student's mental health?? What kind of sick joke is this? They spend a lot of money that could've went to therapists for students in stupid phone bags, and now this is just an excuse to ignore our feelings, cause you can't be that oblivious to how bad we're all doing.
Don't even get me started on how they're trying to make the exams before college (BAC) unnecessary harder than it already was before. Now we're getting -2 points on our final grade if we dare to make a grammar mistake, which only makes us even more stressed than we already were, and this year I have to take a math exam along with my French exam with only two hours of math lessons in a 34 hour week. So how am I supposed to pass? With magic and the power of sunshine?
Since I've been back to school, I haven't been able to do anything I love, blogging being one of those things. I've been buried under school work. I don't know why they thought making us start at 8 and finish at 6 everyday would be a nice idea, and then they act surprised when we end up not having good grades. It's been years since every students ever started asking, may I say begging to get lighter school hours or at least less homework because it doesn't let us a lot of free time. Teachers act like we only have time for their homework and it's honestly ridiculous.
I think the French school system was only made to be comfortable for teachers. They're not the one suffering with more than eight hours of classes everyday, they're not the one that some day don't even have time to eat and have to go to class on an empty stomach, and we certainly don't expect them to work like robots and to make little to no mistakes
So, what are we? Humans? Or does this school system implies we shouldn't be doing any mistakes, that we should be behaving and be as perfect as they want us to be? This is dehumanizing, we're never taken seriously. They're just acting blind, because I know they know how they could've made this easier for us. You can't ignore that much people committing everyday, you can't ignore how much of us are actually depressed because of how much we're pressured and ignored. They say it's to "prepare us for what's waiting for us later when we'll be working" but dare I say that even adults have more free time than us? We're spending more time at school than they're doing in they workplace. There's no need for all of this, I know some countries work just fine with lighter school schedules, so it's not that hard to listen to us for once, is it?
I wish they would listen to us, but it seems like they only like to spend their money, our money because they get it from the taxes we spend our lives paying on unnecessary things. Will it ever get better or will we still continue to be ignored like worthless fools?
