₊‧.°.⋆How does one get rid of procrastination and laziness?⋆.°.‧₊
Procrastination and laziness have to be in the top one of the worst things ever!! I hate them so much and I've been wondering, is there any way to get rid of them? I believe at least everyone had been through this, but how do you stop procrastinating?? How do you stop yourself from being lazy and unproductive?
I've always wanted to be productive and do my tasks/homework etc in time to be efficient, but it always ended the same way: I worked hard for a week then gave up. I just told myself I'd do it "later", but later never came and I end up being taken aback by some surprise test and having a mediocre grade (happened to me Monday, I still can't believe I betrayed myself like this).
The worst part of it is that it wouldn't just do this when I had to study, it could happen with literally anything. I felt like such an unproductive person. I saw people actually do productive things everyday, then I looked at myself. They made it look so easy!! How does one have the strength to wake up at 7 EVERYDAY including during weekends voluntarily?? I admire these people because I can't even wake up for school, let alone when it's the weekend...
I decided I had to find a way to get rid of this. Imagine everything I'd be missing out because I was too lazy to do things like I should've done them? It's like a loop, every time I'd try to overcome it, it would just...come back.
As a result, I tried being productive, especially last summer but this time, I had a goal, a motivation to be: I was trying to be like these girls you see all over Pinterest. It didn't last long but it definitely lasted longer than if I just tried to be productive without a "goal". I still have moments where I can be lazy and delay things, but not as much as I used to. So maybe that's the solution? Trying to fit an aesthetic? Or perhaps learning to romanticize your life?
I heard people felt better about their lives once they tried romanticizing it, they said they'd be a lot more productive and happy and I assure you they're not lying. It gets better once you learn how to do it. After all, we're all the main characters of our lives, so why not see it like a movie? It really helps with the laziness since your goal is to feel like you're in a movie!! You don't have to wake up at 7 everyday to achieve that, but I would said you just have to make sure you live your life at its fullest, like you would if you were in a movie!! Do things you like, go outside, spend some time alone and find out who you really are and you'll already have done a lot!!
This is certainly something you have to try if you're struggling with laziness/procrastination. Romanticize your life!! Let me know if you have any other tips!
